PHILADELPHIA - ESPN College Gameday was on the University of Pennsylvania campus filming an interview piece throughout much of last week. The Quakers will be featured on college football's premier preview show on Saturday between 10-12 ET.

ESPN reporter and Penn alum, Tom Rinaldi, came to campus on Sept. 8 and interviewed head coach Al Bagnoli, along with several players, to discuss how the team has been coping with the death of captain Owen Thomas. Thomas passed away on April 26, just a few short months after he led the Quakers in sacks during the 2009 title season and earned second-team All-Ivy honors.

The ESPN crew was on campus for several days filming practice, the locker room and the stadium. ESPN producers have confirmed that the piece will air this Saturday when the Gameday crew of Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard are in Auburn, Ala., for the matchup between Auburn and Clemson.

College Gameday is a live, on-site college football pregame show that airs each week from a new location. The show is broadcast on ESPNU at 9 a.m. ET, with the two remaining hours of the show on ESPN from 10-12 ET. Penn fans may remember that College Gameday made its first-ever appearance at an FCS game when the show came to Franklin Field in 2002 to see Penn take on Harvard. The Quakers won 44-9 to clinch a share of the Ivy title.
