PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners in men's basketball, and for the third time in this young season a University of Pennsylvania freshman has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week. Perhaps more impressive, in each case it has been a different freshman.
Darnell Foreman earned the honor this time around. He joins Antonio Woods and Mike Auger as Ivy League Rookies of the Week so far this season.
Foreman earned the honor after a pair of stellar performances as he helped the Quakers to their first two wins of the season. He had nine points, two steals and two blocked shots in Penn's win at Navy last Wednesday, then followed that up with 11 points -- his first collegiate double-figure scoring game -- as well as eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in a win Saturday at Binghamton.
Penn (2-5) returns to action one more time before fall-term exams start, the Quakers host Marist on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. That game is the second half of a doubleheader at The Palestra, as the Penn womentip off withSaint Joseph's at 5:30 p.m.
