PHILADELPHIA - Former Penn baseball and football player Mark DeRosa begins his second season with the world champion San Francisco Giants this year, looking to make an impact on the field.
Last season, DeRosa's year was cut short by a wrist injury suffered just 26 games into the season. Recently the San Francisco Chronicle highlighted DeRosa return to the team and also the immense impact he had during the Giants' World Series run, despite being sidelined with an injury. DeRosa also made an impromptu stop by a fall Penn baseball practice when the Giants were in town to play the Phillies during the 2010 playoffs. He spoke with the Penn Sports Network and also posed for pictures with the team.
