Fortin Competes in 200 Freestyle on Friday

INDIANAPOLIS - Penn junior Shelby Fortin swam her second event the at the 2013 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, competing in the 200 Freestyle from the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.

After qualifying for the race with a NCAA ‘B’ cut of 1:46.67 at the Ivy League Championships on March 1, a time that was good for second place in the Ivies as well as a new Penn record, Fortin came back out today and placed 49th in the nation with a time of 1:48.58.

The six-time Ivy League champion will be back next year, looking to close out her career in the Red and Blue with more Ivy hardward and a return trip to the NCAA Championships.
