PRINCETON, N.J. - Justin Fox advanced to the semifinals of the Princeton Invitational Friday, defeating the third-seeded Bogden Borta of Columbia in the first round, 6-4, 6-4. Borta was the top-ranked player from Ivy League-rival Columbia. Fox then took down Faisal Mohammed of Binghamton, 6-4, 6-3, to advance to today's semifinals.
Fox and Brandon O'Gara were also successful in doubles play, where they took down a pair from Yale to advance to today's quarterfinals in the A bracket. Alex Vasin and Justin Roth, the second-seeded team in the B bracket, will also play in the quarterfinals today.
Roth, Jeffrey Karsh, and Andy Magnes all won their first-round singles matches before falling in the quarterfinals.
All seven of Penn's entrants will compete on Saturday, with play beginning at 9 a.m.
