Fran Dunphy Recognized by Collegehoops.net

Recently, Penn head coach Fran Dunphy was listed as one of 10 “underrated” college basketball coaches by www.collegehoops.net.

He is joined on the list by UAB’s Mike Anderson, Virginia Tech’s Seth Greenberg, GW’s Karl Hobbs, Davidson’s Bob McKillop, Washington’s Lorenzo Romar, Iona’s Jeff Ruland, Wisconsin’s Bo Ryan, Boston College’s Al Skinner and Boston University’s Dennis Wolff.

Raphielle Johnson had this to say of Dunphy: “On a national level, the coaches that get the most publicity out of Philadelphia are John Chaney and Jay Wright. But going largely unnoticed by many outside the Big Five/Ivy League circles is Fran Dunphy, who has made the Quakers a perennial favorite to win the Ivy League. Dunphy has racked up nine league titles and eight NCAA Tournament appearances, coaching teams with high basketball IQs that are tough outs come March. Once again, Penn is poised to win the Ivy.”
