Freshmen Shine at Columbia Invitational

New York, N.Y. - The Quakers sent just three athletes, all freshmen to the Columbia Invitational, but all are perfect through Friday action.

First-years, Zach Katz and Ivan Turudic upset the Tournament's No. 1 seed in doubles, Hauk and Cerny of St. John's. Both won individually as well, as Turudic won his Flight A singles match over Michael Lampa of St. John's 7-6, 7-6. Katz won in Flight B singles, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 over Ravo Yegya-Raman and Kyle Roth closed out the day with a hard fought 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Farleigh Dickinson's Mark Hemy.

All three resume play Saturday morning.
