PHILADELPHIA - Penn forward Jessica Fuccello was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week in women’s soccer. The announcement was made Monday by the League office.
Fuccello scored twice in the final 11 minutes to help the Quakers come back from a two-goal deficit and tie Brown, 2-2, Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia. Earlier in the week, she had two goals and an assist as the Quakers went out of league to gain a 4-1 win over La Salle.
Fuccello -- who was honored for the second time this season by the League office -- now has nine goals and five assists for 23 points. Her goal total is tied for seventh on Penn’s single-season list, and her point total is sixth on the program’s single-season list. Fuccello also has the best goal total by a Penn freshman since 2001.
The Penn women's soccer team (8-4-3, 1-3-2 Ivy) finishes its season Saturday afternoon at Princeton. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. at the Tigers' Lourie-Love Field.
