PHILADELPHIA – Pitching twice this past week, a five inning start versus Saint Joseph’s and an extra inning complete game win versus Harvard, University of Pennsylvania baseball senior left-handed pitcher Ronnie Glenn was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week.
Highlighting the week was Glenn’s nine inning, complete game, victory over Harvard on Monday. The Quakers won 2-1 in the extra inning game, where Glenn allowed just one run in the top of the first inning before throwing eight scoreless frames. In his first victory this spring, he struck out five Crimson batters.
On Tuesday last week, Glenn started the round one Liberty Bell Classic game versus SJU, working five innings, allowing two runs, while striking out eight.
Glenn (1-2, 2.28 ERA) leads Penn in strikeouts with 22, and is tied for seventh in the Ivy League. He is currently averaging 8.37 strikeouts per game.
The Quakers play a midweek non-conference game against Saint Peter’s at home on Wednesday, before returning to Ivy League action this weekend at Yale on Saturday and Brown on Sunday. First pitch Wednesday is slated for 3:30 p.m., with doubleheaders this weekend beginning at 12 p.m.
