Philadelphia University of Pennsylvania sophomore Grafton Ifill earned ECAC Male Track Athlete of the Week honors (Week ending April 17) for his performance last weekend in the 100m and 200m dashes against Princeton, Villanova and Rutgers.
Grafton swept the two sprint events. He ran the fastest time by a Quaker since 1984 when he clocked in at 10.42 in the 100m and qualified for the NCAA East Regional Championships in the event. The Nassau, Bahamasnative’s time was the fourth fastest in Penn history. His winning time in the 200m of 21.31 was the seventh fastest in program history as well. Ifill also ran a leg of the 4x100m relay that placed second in the meet.
The Quakers are back in action on April 23 at the Widener Invitational and return to Franklin Field for the 2005 Penn Relays on April 28, 29 and 30.
