Race Recap

This time last year, Grant Wilson SEAS ’12 was rowing as part of a Penn heavyweight rowing revival – serving as Commodore on a crew which posted Penn’s best IRA finish since 2001 and best EARC Sprints result since 2007. This past weekend, Wilson was a key competitor in one of rowing’s great traditions – The Boat Race. Wilson, currently pursuing a Master’s in Philosophy in energy technologies at Cambridge, suited up for the “Light Blues” on Sunday in the 159th edition of The Boat Race on the River Thames.

Wilson and Cambridge were edged by Oxford in the race by 1 1/3 lengths, closing at the finish but running out of course to catch the “Dark Blues” and win an 82nd Boat Race for Cambridge.
