BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior Luke Grau completed his final race in a Red and Blue uniform at the NCAA Championships on Saturday night to wrap up the NCAA East Preliminary Round for the University of Pennsylvania men's track and field team on the E.C. Billy Hayes Track at Indiana University's Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex in Bloomington, Ind.

Grau was the final member of the Red and Blue to compete in the NCAA East prelims. He was in the final individual event of the meet and placed 45th overall with a time of 15:04.83. This marked the first NCAA appearance for the Chadron, Ohio, native, who finished his career in the top 10 all-time at Penn in three different events, including the fourth best time in school history in the indoor 5,000 meters. Grau got into the field in the 5,000 meters when he posted the seventh-best mark in school history - 14:12.24 - at the Penn Relays.

Earlier this week, freshman Maalik Reynolds qualified for the NCAA Finals in the high jump when he tied for first in the event on Thursday evening. That same day, sophomore Tim Carey finished his season in the NCAA First Round of the 400-meter hurdles and senior Darryll Oliver advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in the 800 meters. On Friday, Oliver was eliminated from NCAA competition by 0.52 seconds.

There are two Penn athletes still alive for a shot at All-America honors and a national title. Freshman high jumper Maalik Reynolds will be joined by sophomore Leslie Kovach (5,000 meters) in the NCAA championship meet on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, June 8-11.
