Gymnastics Earns High Score of Season


DENTON, Texas--The Penn gymnastics team earned its highest score of the season with a team total of 190.600. Marissa Rosen put up a season high 9.725 on bars.

The bars unit led the Quakers Friday at Texas Women's University. Scoring a 48.100 as a team, it was the best score on any single event this season. Rosen's return to the lineup was felt with a 9.725 performance while senior Jordan Brewer marked a 9.675 and freshman Laura DiPaolo turned in a 9.625. Junior Lizze Lowe earned a 9.600.

DiPaolo was also strong on vault, continuing to lead her team in that event, scoring a 9.675.

Beam saw senior Sarah Parsons claim the top score of 9.650 while Brewer and newcomer Katie Graham were also strong with 9.600 and 9.525, respectively.

Freshman Rebecca Engberg led the floor team with a 9.675--her best score of the season in the event.

The Quakers will host Cornell at Hutchinson Gym on March 17in the final meet of the season before heading to the ECAC Championships in New Haven, Conn.
