Gymnastics Finishes Fourth at North Carolina

DURHAM, N.C. - The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team finished fourth at the Tar Heel Invitational at the University ofNorth Carolina Saturday afternoon.

The Quakers (9-7) finished fourth with a score of 185.650, behind UNC (194.375), West Virginia (194.100), and Pitt (193.500).

Emily Petkun highlighted the meet for the Quakers, finishing fifth in the all-around with a season-best 38.225, including a 9.675 on the floor exercise. Several Quakers turned in high individual marks, with Lauren Markowitz posting a 9.625 on vault, Laura Duros turning in a season-best 9.7 on beam, and Stephanie Ortiz earning a 37.1 in the all-around.

UNC's Christine Robella won the all-around in a very competitive field with a 39.125.

The Quakers return home on March 11 for their final home meet of the season with Brown at 1 p.m.
