Gymnastics Hosts Towson on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - Penn welcomes the Towson Tigers to Hutchinson Gymnasium on Saturday in the second meet of the 2008 campaign for both schools. The Quakers hope to rebound from a loss to Rutgers to start the season, while the Tigers are coming off a trip across countryfor a tri-meet atUC-Davis that resulted in a third place finish.

Marissa Rosen's 2008 season started off much like her freshmen year of 2007 ended, with high scores. She won the all-around in last week's meet with a score of 38.950, tied for fifth all-time by a Quaker gymnast. She also took high score in three other events - bars (9.800), beam (9.775) and the floor exercise (9.825).

Jordan Brewer completed Penn's sweep of the top spots, taking the vault with a score of 9.700 and setting a personal best along the way.

Christina Ghani leads the way for the Tigers, holding at least a tie for the top score in three events plus the all-around.

Action begins in Hutchinson Gym at 1 pm.
