THE MEET - Penn travels to Brown for the 30th annual Ivy Classic, pitting the Quakers against Yale, Brown and Cornell. The winner gets Ivy bragging rights for another year in what is considered a mid-season championship meet. Penn last won the Classic in 2004, and all-time has won eight titles, all under Head Coach Tom Kovic. Defending champ Yale has won the most Classics, with 14, Cornell has won six times, and Brown once.
LAST TIME OUT - Penn defeated James Madison, West Chester and Wilson in a home quad-meet on Feb. 18. Penn senior Emily Petkun won the all-around with a 37.425. Despite taking an 8.850 on the beam, she posted scores of 9.425 (vault), 9.550 (bars) and 9.600 (floor) to complete her day. Sophomore Stephanie Ortiz had an all-around 36.875, which included a career-high 9.700 on bars. Several otherQuakers turned in excellent individual scores, as Kerri Lutfey hada 9.600on vault andKara Dewhurst matched that on bars. Lutfey and Jordan Brewer both turned in 9.525's on the beam, as Ortiz did on the floor exercise.
LAST YEAR'S IVY CLASSIC - The Quakers were unable to match their 2004 Ivy Classic title but turned in a solid third-place finish. Individually, Laura Bouchelle won the vault with a 9.650. On the bars, Dewhurst finished second with a 9.800, her highest score of the season. Another bright spot for the Quakers was the performance of Kim Chin, who finished fourth on the bars with a 9.750 and fourth on the beam as the Quakers highest finisher in the event with a 9.600. On the floor, Petkun finished fifth with a 9.625. She also finished third in the all-around competition with a score of 37.250.

NEXT TIME OUT -The Quakers willtravel to North Carolina to face the Tar Heels and Pitt on March 4 before returning home for the final time this season, facing Brown on March 11.
