Gymnastics Takes Second at Home


PHILADELPHIA--The Quakers scored 189.725 to take second after Towson with a scored of 192.850 and ahead of Brown at 187.300. Senior Jordan Brewer took second in the all-around with a score of 38.850. Brewer tied for first on beam with a 9.775, tying her personal best.

Penn opened with a strong showing on vault with freshman Laura DiPaolo registering an 9.825 and Brewer bringing in a 9.625. As a team the Quakers scored 47.275 on vault.

Next, on bars, Penn Lizzie Lowe impressed with a 9.650 while Brewer stayed strong with a 9.625.

On beam, senior Sarah Parsons scored a 9.700 to take third overall while Brewer's 9.775 took first in the event.

Finally, on floor, Brewer again led with a 9.775 and fourth place overall, while freshman Katie Graham brought in a 9.525.

The Quakers travel to Penn State next where they will compete against the Nittany Lions, William & Mary and Cornell. The meet is set for Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.
