PHILADELPHIA – With a young team that continues to improve every week, the University of Pennsylvania gymnastics squad heads to Yale this Saturday. In a matchup of Ivy schools, the Quakers are looking for their first win of 2014

Penn finished fourth in the season opener at George Washington and dropped a dual meet against Illinois State last weekend, but despite the results, the team has seen its score improve each competition.

Sophomore Carissa Lim and junior Amber Woo have added events to help solidify the Penn rotation, while the Quakers have also relied on the senior leadershipof Nicki Valenti, and their only current all-arounder, Diana Moock in the early stages of the year.

In addition, freshmen Kelly Tan and Rachel Graham have stepped in nicely, earning great experience, while fellow teammates have been working on returning from injury.

Pennwas in the same position lastseason, looking for its first win, and defeated Yale, 191.525-187.900.

The meet will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Payne Whitney Gym in New Haven, Conn.
