Gymnastics Welcomes Temple, Maryland, and Southern Connecticut Friday

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn gymnastics team will play host for just its second time this season, Friday at 7 p.m. in Hutchinson Gymnasium. The Quakers will square off against Temple, Maryland, and Southern Connecticut.

For the past five meets, the Red and Blue have continued to best its season high score, coming off last week's 189.625, good for a third place finish at Pitt's meet with George Washington and Western Michigan. Penn also recorded its best vault and beam scores (both 47.800) of the year.

Leading the way for the Quakers on vault is sophomore Laura DiPaolo with her best being a 9.725, attained in the most recent competition.

On bars, DiPaolo and freshman Dana Bonincontri have both scored 9.775's this season while the team's best cumulative mark is a 47.450.

Senior Jenny Hurst, freshman Megan Milavec, and Bonincontri show Penn's potential on beam, all scoring 9.725's this season to lead the team. The two freshmen received their high scores in the last meet.

Freshman Kirsten Strausbaugh heads Penn's floor exercise with a best 9.775, as well as all-around with a 37.600.
