PHILADELPHIA--Jordan Brewer led the Quakers with a career-best 9.850 on the floor while Sarah Parsons won on beam and Laura DiPaolo turned in the top scores on vault and bars. The team finished second with a score of 186.425 just behind Southern Connecticut State at 187.200. Local school Ursinus (184.750) and West Chester (175.925) were third and fourth, respectively.
First up, freshman Laura DiPaolo continued to lead Penn vault with a 9.700 while Brewer turned in a 9.525. On bars, DiPaolo again scored the highest for Penn with a 9.525 while Lizzie Lowe and Elise Bowe scored 9.350 and 9.325, respectively. DiPaolo turned in the top scores of the meet in vault and bars.
Beam was the best event for Penn with a 47.450 team score. Parsons tied her season best with a 9.725 and won the event while Jenny Hurst scored a 9.675.
On floor, Brewer registered a personal best with a 9.850 which also tied for the high score for the meet and tied her for a win on floor. Senior Kerri Lutfey scored a 9.575 and was Penn's next best score in the event.
Brewer came in third on the all-around with a 37.675 while Bowe scored a 37.400, her second best all-around score of the season.
The Quakers are are back in action at the Shelli Calloway Invitational on Feb. 20 at 7 p.m.in Towson, Md.
