Hall Earns Academic All-Area Honors

PHILADELPHIA – University of Pennsylvania junior Michael Hall has been named to the 2006-07 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men’s Track and Field Team. Hall is one of 10 student-athletes selected to the 2006-07 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men’s Tennis Team.

The team is voted by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. To be eligible, the student-athletes must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Hall scored 6,526 points in the decathlon at the Ivy League Heptagonal meet (May 5), good for fifth-place and two team points for the Quakers. He cleared a season-best 4.30m in the indoor pole vault at the Ivy League Heptagonal meet (Feb. 24).

Hall also serves as the Student-Advisory Committee (SAC) representative for men’s track and field. He is a chemistry and biology major in the College of Arts and Sciences with a 3.93 grade point average.
