PHILADELPHIA - Sarah Hasson, a freshman midfielder on Penn's field hockey team, has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the seven-day period that ended Sept. 22.
Hasson (Warrington, Pa.) netted her first career goal while sparking a valiant second half comeback in Penn's contest with Cornell last Friday. Down 2-0, Hasson led an aggressive attack and found the back of the cage in the 44th minute, turning the tide. Penn evened the score with just under three minutes left in regulation to send the game into overtime, but unfortunately could not sustain the momentum to capture the win. Hasson acted as a playmaker and keyed Penn's offense all game.
The Quakers (2-4) take on Villanova Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. on Franklin Field.
