PHILADELPHIA--Penn goalkeeper Drew Healy was named the Philly Soccer News Men’s College Player of the Year. He also is among the 30 finalists for the Soccer News Network National player of the Year, which will be announced next week.
Following in the tradition of superior goalkeeping at Penn, Healy has made a name for himself in the Red and Blue. With 11 shutouts this season, he set a new standard at Penn and currently there are only six other goalkeepers in the country with more clean sheets this season. He has also clocked the most minutes of any keeper in a single season at Penn. He started his senior campaign with a perfect 684 minutes and 12 seconds which ranks 17th in NCAA Division I history.
Healy helped lead the Quakers totheir first Ivy League title and NCAA tournament appearance since 2002 andfinished the season with a 0.63 goals-against average in 18 games and was alsonamed second-team All-Ivy.
