Heavyweight Rowing Finishes Ninth at Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. – The first EARC Sprints regatta as head coach for Geoff Bond saw the University of Pennsylvania heavyweight rowing program replicate its ninth place finish from last season – the first back-to-back Top 10 finish for the Red and Blue since 2001-02.

The Quakers were third in the Petite Final, besting a Dartmouth squad which had beaten the Quakers two weeks ago in their final Cup race of 2016. Seeded No. 11 entering the weekend, the Quakers outperformed expectations.

The 2V and 3V were both 12th overall, each finishing sixth in the Petite Final.

Up next for the Red and Blue is the IRA Regatta at Lake Mercer June 3-5.
