PHILADELPHIA - In four years, the University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team has raised nearly $10,000 in their Charge for a Cure initiative, and awareness for nearly two dozen charities and foundations. With that in mind, the Quakers will once again be taking charges for a cure this season.
During the 2014-15 season, the Penn women's basketball team will be raising money for every charge they take to fight for a cure for diabetes and pediatric cancer. All proceeds will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and The Cancer Center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Here is how you can help: The team is asking for a pledge (usually between $1-$5) for every charge the team takes this year (usually between 30-40 in any given season). You can email your pledge to Director of Women's Basketball OperationsChristine McCollum at email@example.com. Or, you can mail in the donation form.
