PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior Alexa Hoover has been named the Ivy League Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the Ivy League office on Monday afternoon.
In a 2-0 week for the Quakers, Hoover led the team with six goals and 12 points off of 12 shots to help Penn improve to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in league action. She began that performance on Tuesday when she registered four goals in a 6-2 win over Villanova in a come from behind effort. She added to that tally on Saturday at home against Brown where she knocked two scores home for the 3-2 win over their Ancient Eight rival.
Monday’s announcement marks the second Player of the Week laurel for Hoover this season, she earned the same recognition on Sept. 15. For the season, the junior leads the team with 15 goals and seven assists for 37 points.
Penn returns to action this coming Saturday, Nov. 5 when they travel to Princeton for the regular season finale. Game time is slated for noon at Bedford Field.
