PHILADELPHIA – University of Pennsylvania freshman Alexa Hoover recorded a hat trick in her first week of collegiate field hockey, in her second week, she scored three more times and added an assist to earn her second consecutive Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors for the week ending on Sept. 14.
Hoover scored twice in a, 4-2, victory over Fairfield on Friday, keeping pace with senior Emily Corcoran, who also recorded a hat trick the first weekend and scored twice in the game on Friday.
The Collegeville, Pa. native added a goal and an assist on Sunday in a close, 3-2, defeat against Liberty, giving her a team leading 14 points on six goals and two assists.
