University of Pennsylvania men's soccer defender, senior Andy Howard, was named an All-American by the Jewish Sports Review. He started and played in 13 of 14 games this season.
A native of Portland, Ore., Howard is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in international relations. This season, he scored two goals. His first goal came off a header against Saint Joseph’s on Sept. 15 followed by another goal against La Salle on Sept. 20. On defense, he helped anchor the backfield in eight shutouts on the season.
The Quakers finished the season with a 9-4-2 record and went 5-1-1 in Ivies, placing them in second place behind Harvard.
The team looks forward to the fall 2008 season, welcoming six recruits in the class 2011.
