PHILADELPHIA - Penn women's tennis freshman Connie Hsu just keeps on winning at the Riviera Country Club in the ITA All-American Championships, taking a pair of Qualifying matches in straight sets on Tuesday.
Hsu advanced to the Qualifying round with her victories on Sunday, and on Tuesday didn't disappoint in her quest to reach the main draw of the country's largest collegiate tennis tournament.
In her first match, the first-year dispatched of the country's 46th-ranked player, Stacey Tan of Stanford, in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. She followed it up with an equally impressive 7-5, 6-3 win over Keri Wong of Clemson, ranked 39th by the ITA, in the afternoon.
Wednesday marks the final round of qualifying, where Hsu with match up against Emily Fraser of Viginia. Fraser reached the final round by upsetting 26th-ranked McCall Jones of UCLA in the second round, 6-4, 6-3.
