Hutchinson, Kopec Earn CSFL Player of the Week Honors

Philadelphia – University of Pennsylvania sprint football playerJ.T. Hutchinson was named Offensive Player of the Week while senior Nick Kopec was named Defensive Player of the Week by the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) after an exciting 31-17 win over Army.

Hutchinson, a sophomore, had an impressive all-around performance rushing for 186 yards and two touchdowns. One of his scoring runs was a career-high 76-yard dash. Hutchinson also caught two passes for 33 yards and returned two kickoffs for 43 yards.

Kopec, a defensive end put on a dominating display against the Black Knights. Kopec recorded eight tackles, seven solo, and three sacks for a combined loss of 14 yards.

The Quakers (3-0, 1-0 CSFL) look to remain undefeated as they travel to Cornell on Oct. 22. The two teams met on the opening weekend of the season, with Penn taking a 35-13 decision in Philadelphia. Hutchinson scored four touchdowns in that game, while quarterback Mike Loguidice threw for 251 yards.
