Ifill and 4x800m Lead Quakers on Final Day of Penn Relays

Philadelphia - Sophomore Grafton Ifill and the 4x800m relay team both finished in the top-five for the University of Pennsylvania men’s track and field team on Saturday at the 2005 Penn Relays on Franklin Field.

Ifill finished fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 10.56, while the 4x800m relay team finished fourth in the 4x800m Championship of America relay. The quartet of Scott Seben, Carson Schmiett, Courtney Jaworski and Tim Kaijala crossed the finish line in 7:26.88.

Junior Jim Malizia grabbed a fourth-place finish in the javelin with a toss of 63.52 (208’05”).

Former Quaker Sam Burley finished fourth in the Olympic Development Mile with a time of 4:07.89 6. The 2003 graduate and former NCAA Champion competed for Asics.

The Red and Blue return to action at the Heptagonal Ivy League Championships on May 7-8 at Columbia University in New York City, N.Y.
