Philadelphia - University of Pennsylvania sophomore Ibrahim Jaaber was named Ivy League Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 24. Jaaber led all players with a career-high 24 points in Penn’s 85-63 win at on Jan. 18.
The Elizabeth, N.J. native went 8-for-10 from the floor including a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line and a 4-for-5 effort from beyond the arc. Jaaber also had two assists, two steals and one block in 33 minutes of action. This is Jaaber’s first Ivy League Player of the Week honor. However, the guard was a two-time Ivy League Rookie of the Week selection as a freshman.
The University of Pennsylvania(6-7) faces Big 5 rival Saint Joseph’s on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. in The Palestra.
