PHILADELPHIA - thecollegeinsider.com has announced its preseason All-America Men's Basketball Teams for 2005-06, and Penn guard Ibrahim Jaaber was among the 25 players listed on the Mid-Major All-America Team. He is the only Ivy League to be represented on the list.

Jaaber,a junior guard, averaged 11.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last season for the Quakers, helping them win the Ivy League title and advance to the NCAA Tournament. Jaaber also picked up a Penn and Ivy League-record 85 steals, including nine against Dartmouth on March 4 which also set school and conference single-game marks.

At the end of last season, Jaaber -- who had 17 double-figure scoring games -- was a second-team All-Ivy pick, one of just two sophomores to be so loftily rated.

Jaaber enters the 2005-06 season with 117 career steals, good for sixth on Penn's all-time list. He needs 50 this season to become the program's all-time leader.
