PHILADELPHIA - Junior Karen Jann of the Penn women's lacrosse team has been named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, the League has announced. It is the first Ivy League honor of Jann's career.
Jannwas instrumental in a terrific team defensive effort in two Quakers victories last week. Against Harvard, she had a ground ball and a caused turnover in holding Harvard to just four goals, the fewest Penn has allowed this year.
The No. 20 Quakers return to action Saturday when they travel to Dartmouth for a key Ivy League game. The opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m.
