Jaworski Honored By USTFCCCA

PHILADELPHIA - Senior track star Courtney Jaworski has been named the Mid-Atlantic Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The announcement came June 1.

Jaworski, an All-America who is slated to run the 800 meters this weekend at the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif., earned the honor after winning the 800 at the Outdoor Heptagonal Championships in early May and placing second at the NCAA Regional last week in Greensboro, N.C. He is just the third man to win the 800three times in the 72-year history of theHeps Championships. In addition, Jaworski took first place in the 1,500 at the IC4A Championships a few weeks ago.

Earlier this year, Jaworski was the Athlete of the Meet at the Indoor Heptagonal Championships after he won the mile run and took second in the 800. He also competed in the NCAA Championships during the cross country season in the fall.
