Jerel Blades Earns PS6 Rookie of the Week Honors

PHILADELPHIA --Jerel Blades picked up Penn's second consecutive Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week honor, garnering the recognition for his goal against Yale on Saturday night.

Blades netted the equalizer for the Quakers in an eventual 1-1 draw with the Bulldogs, scoring in the 59th minute. His goal came just 4:18 after Yale had taken the lead.

Blades has two goals this season, the most by a Penn freshman.

Last week, fellow freshman Etan Mabourakh was named Ivy League and Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week for his performance in goal for the Red and Blue.

The Quakers are on the road this weekend, visiting Brown on Saturday at 7 p.m.
