PHILADELPHIA- Quaker fans are invited to celebrate with the University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team at the NCAA Tournament Selection Show on Monday at The Palestra. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
"Our fans have been a big part of our success," said Head Coach Mike McLaughlin. "So it is only fitting they share in this experience with us. It's going to be a great feeling sitting in The 'Cathedral of College Basketball' and seeing our school's name appear on the bracket. I can't wait to share in that with our players, staff, family, friends, alumni, fans and everyone else who has meant so much to this program over the years."
The first 200 fans receive a free t-shirt, and students can earn triple rewards points. Free pretzels and popcorn will be available, and fans will also have the opportunity to take pictures with the Ivy League championship trophy.Streamers -- a Palestra tradition -- will be available to toss as the team is revealed on the bracket. And, of course, the Penn band, cheerleaders and Quaker mascot will be on hand to help celebrate.
For thosewho cannot make it to The Palestra, Penn's selection show event will be streamed live and for free on the Ivy League Digital Network. There will be interviews with coaches and players throughout the show, which is set to begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. ESPN will broadcast the NCAA Selection Show starting at 7 p.m.
