Jok and Walker Tabbed Sports Performances Student-Athletes of the Month

PHILADELPHIA - Two juniors who have grown into leadership roles on their teams were honored by Penn's Sports Performance staff as Student-Athletes of the Month for April. Men's basketball gaurd Dau Jok and women's soccer midfielder Claire Walker -- both captains of their respective teams -- were tabbed by the Sports Performance staff for their "Hard work in all facets of training, dedication to getting better and motivational abilities as leaders of their teams."

Jok appeared in a career-high 29 games this season for the men's basketball team, also setting career highs in minutes, field goals, three-point field goals, rebounds and assists. Against Lafayette on January 8, he scored a career-high 18 points -- inclduing four made three-pointers.

Walker, a junior from Tulsa, Okla., played in all 16 matches with 15 starts for the Red and Blue. She scored the first two goals of her career this fall, both coming in eventual Penn wins. For her career, she has tallied two goals and six assists.
