PHILADELPHIA - Jordan Brewer was selected as co-recipient of the ECAC Coach's Choice of the Week for her performance the week of 1/27.
In Penn's first Ivy League meet of the season at Yale, Brewer had the meet's top score in the vault with a 9.575. This marks the third straight meet that she had that event's high score.
In addition to her vault succes, Brewer tied for first on the beam with a 9.625.
According to head coach John Ceralde, Brewer is making tremendous strides in her all-around.
"Each week she becomes more consistent and confident in her all-around," he said. "After not competing in bars at all in 2007, she has put together a routine that compliments the rest of her skills and makes her a valuable asset in the all-around."
Against the Bulldogs, Brewer's all-around score of 37.800 was tied for second.
Brewer and the rest of the Penn gymnastics team are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Ithaca, N.Y. for a meet with Ivy foe Cornell at noon.
