Philadelphia Senior Joshua Duyan was named the Ivy League Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after an outstanding performance in the University of Pennsylvania’s 2-1 upset of No. 18 South Carolina on Sept. 17.
Duyan broke a 0-0 stalemate at the 62:27 mark, weaving through a series of defenders to put home his first goal of the season. After the Gamecocks tied the score, Duyan fed fellow senior Stephen Kroculick for the game-winner in the 79th minute.
The midfielder as started all five games for the Quakers this season, and currently is tied for fourth on the team in scoring with three points.
Penn (3-2-0) is back in action on Friday, Sept. 24, as it hosts city-rival Drexel at 3:30 p.m. on Rhodes Field.
