PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners in men's lacrosse, and University of Pennsylvania freshman goalkeeper Reed Junkin was named the inaugural Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the 2016 season.

Junkin's honor comes on the heels of his 12-save performance in Penn's season-opening, 12-10 win over Michigan on Saturday. Junkin had four saves in the opening quarter, when the Quakers took a 2-1 lead, and had four more during a decisive third quarter when Penn outscored the Wolverines 6-0, turning a 4-4 halftime tie into a 10-4 lead that the Red and Blue never relinquished.

Harvard sophomore Morgan Cheek was the Ivy League Player of the Week. Penn sophomore Connor Keating, a sophomore long-stick middie who had three points Saturday, was named to the Ivy League's weekly honor roll.

Penn returns to action on Sunday, traveling to Virginia to take on the 11th-ranked Cavaliers. Faceoff will be 1 p.m. in Charlottesville.
