Kelley, Mulligan, Beitler Earn CRCA Awards

PHILADELPHIA - Junior Maura Kelley and sophomore Libby Mulligan have been named All-Region by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association while sophomore Annie Beitler has been named a CRCA National Scholar Athlete.

Kelley has been tabbed a First-Team All-Region selection while Mulligan is a Second-Team honoree.

Both Kelley and Mulligan rowed in the varsity 8 boatthis season. Kelley, a co-captain this year,ended the season at Eastern Sprints in the stroke seat, while Mulligan sat in the 6 seat. It is the first regional honor for each student-athlete.

Beitler occupied the 4 seat of the varsity 8 at Sprints. The Scholar Athlete award recognizes student-athletes with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher that competed in 75 percent of her team's 2006 spring races. Beitler is the11th Quaker rower to earn the distinction and first since Susan Francia in 2004.

The Quaker varsity 8 placed fifth in the Petite Final and11th overall at Sprints on May 14.
