Kelly Tan, Kyra Levi Named ECAC Scholar-Athletes of the Year

PHILADELPHIA - Following the conclusion of the ECAC Championship on Saturday, Kelly Tan and Kyra Levi were named ECAC Scholar-Athletes of the Year for their impressive achievements both in the classroom and on the competition floor. Athletes must keep a GPA of 3.50 of higher to win the award.

The honor is the second in a row for Tan, who also won the award in 2016. The senior from Los Gatos, Calif. has been a mainstay on the balance beam for the Quakers the entire season, hitting her career-high of 9.775 three times this year. Tan is set to graduate Penn with a Masters of Science in engineering in August.

A junior captain from Port Matilda, Pa., Levi has done it all for the Red and Blue this year, competing primarily on bars, beam and floor. Levi's score of 9.900 on bars at Temple earlier this season matched her career-high, while also ranking third in Penn record books. Levi's top score this season on floor is a 9.825 (twice), while the junior notched a top mark of 9.675 on beam.
