PHILADELPHIA - Day two of the Cissie Leary Invitational has ended and Penn's doubles team, Ekaterina Kosminskaya and Alexa Ely, are headed into the final. The duo is ranked second overall and they will be playing the No. 1 team, Yale'sJanet Kim and Lindsay Clark.
Kosminskaya and Ely won their semifinal match today, 8-1, over Nicole Stanziola and Shoko Okuda of Columbia.
Yale's double team beat out Cornell, 8-3, to get into the final. Kim is also slated to play in the singles final tomorrow.
Jordyn Shaffer made it into the quarterfinals of the white bracket before falling to Lucie Pazderova, 6-1, 6-1.
Kosminskaya won her quarterfinals match against Natalia Sanchez, 6-1, 6-1. Kosminskaya withdrew from her semifinals match due to injury.
Lauren Sadaka and Maria Anisimova fell to Natalia Sanchez and Stephanie Kent of Cornell, 8-0, in the semifinals of the Red Bracket.
Finals are set to begin tomorrow at 9 a.m., beginning with singles matches.
