Kosminskaya and Koulbitskaya Win Doubles Crown at William and Mary Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG – The women’s tennis team brought home some hardware this weekend at the William and Mary Invitational as the team of Ekaterina Kosminskaya and Julia Koulbitskaya won Flight A of doubles competition.

The twosome completed their march through the bracket with a dominating 8-3 victory over Aurejlia Misevicute and Ela Kaluder from Arkansas, who were seeded higher than the Quaker pair.

Two other Quakers teamed up to reach the Flight B doubles final. Yulia Rivelis and Maria Anismova matched up against Lauren Cash and Alina Sullivan from Boston College. Cash and Sullivan proved too much to handle, however, and Penn’s team fell, 8-5.

The Quakers return to the court September 21-23 when they host the Cissie Leary Invitational at the Levy Tennis Pavilion. Check back at www.PennAthletics.com for updated brackets and results.
