PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners for women's soccer, and Penn sophomore Kristin Kaiser has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week.
Kaiser earned the honor for the second time in her career after recording a goal and an assist Saturday night in the Quakers' 2-0 Ivy League win over Harvard. She also scored a goal earlier in the week when Penn defeated UMBC in non-league action, 3-0.
In addition to her conference honor, Kaiser was named to the SoccerBuzz.com National Elite Team of the Week for the first time in her career. She is the first Penn player to be named to that squad since Natalie Capuano last year.
Kaiser is tied for the team lead with three goals, and tied for second on the team with seven points.
Penn is in action twice this week, hosting Saint Joseph's Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. and traveling to face Cornell this weekend.
