Lane Falls to Suchde in Quarterfinals at CSA Championships

PHILADELPHIA – University of Pennsylvania men’s squash player Gilly Lane lost in the quarterfinals of the Potter Division at the College Squash Association Saturday at Ringe Courts.

Lane was matched up against Harvard’s Siddharth Suchde who he defeated back on Feb. 10 when Suchde was forced to retire after the first game because of an injury. However, Saturday, Lane lost, 3-1. He won Game 1, 9-4, but Suchde rebounded to win each of the next three games, 9-2.

In the Second Round Consolation draw, Lee Rosen was swept by Sahil Vora (9-6, 9-6, 9-1). Ben Ende lost, 3-2, to Rushabh Vora in the consolation round. Ende won Game 1, 9-6, but lost the next two games, 9-7 and 9-0. He won Game 4, 9-7 and lost in the fifth, 9-4.

In the Molloy Division, Ryan Rayfield defeated teammate Christopher Thompson. Rayfield won Game 1, 9-0 and Thompson retired because of an injury. In the semifinals, Rayfield lost to Sadiq Madaswala, 3-0 (9-2, 9-6, 8-1 Ret. Inj.).
