PRINCETON, N.J. Playing in just her third collegiate squash competition, freshman Kristen Lange advanced to the final round of the Constable Invitational Sunday at Princeton. Lange defeated Princeton’s Amanda Siebert, 3-0, in the semifinals Sunday morning to advance.
In the final, she lost to another Princeton opponent in Neha Kumar. Kumar won the match, 3-2, but not before Lange took her to the limit and fellin the fifth game, 9-7.
Fellow freshman Sydney Scott lost her semifinal match to Kumar, 3-1. In the 3/4 playoff, Siebert bested Scott.
Seniors Radhika Ahluwalia and Paula Pearson finished seventh and eighth overall.
“It was a positive weekend and we gained lots of experience against top-flight players,” said head coach Jack Wyant. “This weekend, plus a good week of practice, will prepare us for Yale.”
This marks Penn’s best finish at the Constable under Wyant.
Penn returns to action Saturday, traveling to Yale for a 1 p.m. match.
