Lange Loses in Final at CSA Championships

PHILADELPHIA - In the final round of the Ramsay Division at the College Squash Assocation Individual Championships, Penn freshman women's squash player Kristen Lange lost, 3-1 to No. 1 seed Kyla Grig Sunday afternoon at RInge Courts.

Lange was looking to become the first Penn player to win a national singles title since Jessica DiMauro in 1996. She put together an impressive rookie campaign. Lange played No. 1 for the Quakers this season and posted a 7-5 dual match record. She took the Under 19 Junior U.S. Open Championship in December and advanced to the final at the Constable Invitational in November.

Penn's only other player still alive Sunday was fellow freshman Sydney Scott. She swept Alia Aziz in the Ramsay Division Consolation final. Scott also had a solid freshman year. She went 7-5 in dual match play at the No. 2 position for most of the season. Scott went 2-1 at the Howe Cup and advanced to the semifinal round at the Constable Invitational.

Both Lange and Scott will be up for both Ivy League and All-America honors/
