PHILADELPHIA - The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has announced its All-American Scholars for the 2012-13 academic year, and a pair of University of Pennsylvania golfers are among the 644 women honored across NCAA Division I, II and III.

Senior Allison Oakes and junior Michelle Lee met the criteria for the recognition, which is among the most stringent in college athletics at a cumulative 3.50 GPA.

Lee missed the fall season as she was on a study abroad program, but returned in the spring and was in Penn's lineup for all five events during that season. The former first-team All-Ivy golfer had an 81.1 stroke average in 10 tournament rounds, with a low round of 74 at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary.

Oakes joined the program for her senior year after transferring to Penn from Columbia. She was in the Quakers' lineup for every tournament in 2012-13 and had an 85.2 stroke average over 17 tournament rounds. Her low round was a 79 at the Hoya Invitational in April.
